. The language is conversational, and the author has a great sense of humour. Basically, this book is a book that may feel as good to give as it does to receive. Only it's not EXACTLY like Harry Potter because there is also a buttload of sex and profanity and graphic violence in the book. The real highpoint of the book is how it only slightly gives hints and clues on the man and his background, yet beautifully describes his inner thoughts, reflections, feelings, and detachment from the human world and the people in it. He was kidnapped by the Suhlik as a baby and his genetic code was altered so much he was considered an abomination by his clan. ) I amdelighted with variety of pies & much side information. Many teens deal with low grades, but very few are able to improve them in Emerson's not-so-typical way. It felt realistic, and I liked how it didn’t have a completely happy ending, but things turned out good in the end. I think this will be an excellent classroom reference for teachers and students. He received his Doctor of Musical Arts in composition from the University of Illinois.
